The Prodigy - Warriors Dance

This post is a bit a-typical from the norm yall are accustomed to. This almost melodic track from Prodigy blends a Thievery Corporation style voice with some seriously hard breakbeats that somehow, brings a smile to my face when I hear it. I had never really given much love to The Prodigy, famous for “Smack my Bitch Up”, until I saw them live at Ultra Music Festival where they rocked me and the 100,000 other ravers in the audience. They use thumping base and crazy voices. It may be a bit much for you loyal DJShrifty readers but what do you think?

Guess the sample!

Now this is super fucking cool. I found the original sample for one of todays hottest songs, and its from this old Irish woman Mary O’Hara.

You should instantly know it, but if not, heres the new version below.

Chiddy Bang - Truth ft Passion Pit

I’ve blogged about these guys for months now. They take an upcoming indie rapper/group, sample their hit track, and make their own unique banger. Heres Chiddy Bang using Passion Pit. I would love to hear their version of “Sleepyhead”

Miike Snow - Animal + Crookers Remix!

This Swedish trio are the brains behind Britney’s “Toxic” , and their coolly emotional pop suggests a little Vampire Weekend meets Animal Collective. This is their first single and its already been remixed by Crookers.

Jay-Z - Death of AutoTune

Sorry I stepped away for a minute… or a month. Im back. Happy Summer.

I’m coming back in the strongest way possible; Jay-Z!

This track entitled “Death of Autotune” will most likely be off his highly anticipated new CD, Blueprint 3. Hopefully, autotune (for those of you who dont know, think Kanye on “808’s and Heartbreak” and anything T-Pain) will disappear. He sings “la la la… hey hey… goodbye”.
